Vironova is a Swedish biotechnology company providing comprehensive software, hardware and services for the analysis of nanoparticles. We develop the tools Vironova Analyzer Software (VAS), a tool for computer-assisted analysis of transmission electron microscopy and VIAS, an imaging and analysis software that controls transmission electron microscopes.


The role 

Join our software development team with 18 dedicated people where your role is to be responsible for the development, maintenance and tuning of our complex databases. Storing and managing data is central in our products. You will be leading our development of data access technologies as well as provide good insights in how to shape our products to optimize deployment and updates from a database point-of-view. Today we work with SQL-server but believe we need to explore and use graph databases in the future due to the complexity and size of our image data. We expect you to take lead in this journey, but we also expect you to participate in the daily system development of our products.

Our technical platform today: Windows, .Net 4.7, WPF, Tensorflow, OpenCL, OpenCV, SQLServer 2017, 2019, SQLite, Entity Framework Core

And on our wish list: (for you to explore) .Net 5, Neo4j, Postgres, Separate storage for different types of data


  • At least 5 years work experience with background from system development
  • Strong knowledge of working with databases, including T-SQL, Entity Framework (or other OR mapper), managing large binary datasets
  • Experience from various technical environments
  • You are fluent in English, both spoken and in writing
  • You must already be a resident in Sweden, however Swedish is not a mandatory requirement
